The Apple Keynote Dissected With The iPad Pro & iPhone 6s & (iPhone 6s Plus)

The world is plugged into Apple people! Before unveiling the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus Tim Cook Apple’s CEO rattled off the usual statistics testifying the now outdated iPhone 6 and 6+ expediential market growth of 35% meaning new customers opted to use an iPhone with a minutely small number of 10% supposedly lost sheep remaining or starting on an Android or Microsoft talking device.Historically like many other Apple Keynotes. He gears up the audience and his team and toots the trumpet mildly belittling Android without being shabby or beating around the bush.

The difference between Android and Apple and the barrier which divides is crumbling. Sure Apple continuity is something that works really well BUT you can easily get the same thing with ‘Pushbullet’ on your Android device to take notes and recieve calls on your laptop/PC and Evernote is good enough to use as a friendly word processor working with everything universally, and of course there’s Google Now. Apple are brilliant at getting you to put all your eggs in one basket.

I always think Apple are absolute experts at what they do in regards to innovation hardware and obviously marketing, however, I think they’re also excellent proformers upon the stage as well and work really well at explaining their product so clearly anyone can easily understand. Even the technological details are spliced up so you can understand the bits and bobs and get the whole picture.

The Apple Watch OS2 & Apps

After opening the keynote Tim Cook welcomes Jeff Williams to the stage we take a further look at the Apple Watch, the company run us through some impressive figures and confirmed customer satisfaction is at 97% for the beloved new digital class of wearable. New straps are on the way with a special bright red shade signifying Aids and donating the proceeds made from that life giving colour to sufferers of the disease.

FaceBook Messenger

Some new apps for the Apple Watch include FBMessenger which will include the ability to send FB messenge’s, share your location with FB friends and even send Bond/Mission Impossible-like audio messages tapping and speaking into the watchface. You can do this already on your phone but how much cooler do you think this is going to be to do on the Apple Watch?

iTranslate & GoPro Apps

Another handy new app for the Watch is iTranslate which self evidently translate’s language for when abroad or convieniently for clarity or self education. GoPro also have their own App allowing you to use the Apple Watch to set up and view your GoPro Camera from the wrist, again how cool and spylike can we get for 2015?

Name Calling & Airstrip ONE

The next app to put us literally through it’s paces from cradle to grave is Airstrip ONE- Airstrip ONE interestingly and ominously enough must have inherited it’s name from the Novel 1984 penned by George Orwell portraying a totalitarian brainwashed CCTV privacy intrusive some might say prophetic backward Orwellian World Order. Back to reality and San Francisco the Billy Graham auditorium and centre stage Jeff Williams finnishes touting the Apple Watch and invites the co-founders of Airstrip to talk about their new app, made and implimented specifically for the Apple Watch and how it will confidently, securely and confidentiality confide paitients and change the healthcare industry in the USA and prehaps the world forever!

The Apple Watch In Closing

There are 10,000 apps for the Apple Watch but these are just a few of the new apps to be embracing the Apple Watch with its new OS2 released September 16th next Wednesday. With new looks of Gold, Rose Gold and Anodised Alluminium, in both 38mm and 42mm versions of the watch. Apple liked the iconography of Hermēz and thus partnered with brand for their alternative fashonable watch straps. The developers have been busy and everyone seems to be collaborating together even Microsoft presented Office facilitating with Apple’s new ‘Apple Pencil’ which was also revealed this week at the Apple keynote as an accessory for the new iPad Pro.

The iPad Pro

Next up Phil Schiller Apple’s senior Vice President of Marketing was on stage and blessed with the honor of presenting details of the new iPad Pro. Apple done did it and made it new all over again! At first glance the last few incarnations of the original tablet haven’t been wildly awe inspiring or innovative in their build or makeup but rather a continuation and fast processing improvement of a good idea built on a steady foundation established under the leadership and shadow of Steve Jobs.

The iPad Pro is different and looks like it will live up to its self acclaimed standard. Weighing in at 1.57lb which is only 0.3 ounces more then the original iPad and still light as a feather yet heavier in its weight. The Pro has a 12.9 inch 2732 x 2048 pixel display with 5.6 million pixels. Why 12.9 inches muses Phil to the audience? Helping fathom it’s size Phil explains that the previous largest iPad the iPad Air 2 can fit it’s hieght into just over half of the width of the new iPad Pro usurping it in size. With the new multitasking features of iOS9 you’ll be able to split the screen in half easily whilst still having acres of space to play with on other apps, figuratively speaking.

Pro Processing Power

Behind the new iPad Pro is the heart and blood that keeps everything fluid. The A9X is Apple’s third generation 64 bit Central Processing Unit which deals with everything you can throw at it and all the other tasks working in harmony to keep the pro in ballance and perfect order. The new chip is overall 1.8 times faster then the A8X with memory processing and management working twice as fast as ever before, much better than the latter “iPad Air 2” Altogether Apple have increased their CPU proformance twenty-two fold in merely five years. On top of all this the iPad Pro will come with an optional 32GB or 128GB variations of internal memory, both weilding 4GB of RAM to boost and assist.

As well as having an expensive yet moderate weight to it the Pro produces desktop class processing speeds with a ten hour battery yet remains just 6.9mm almost as thin as the iPad Air at 6.1mm. The iPad Pro is a lean green fat trimming machine…all its materials purely recyclable and clean. Aforementioned the pleasant scented surprise floats with the Apple Pencil- as a side-note making the Galaxy S-Pen sound like a modern Quill. The wildly expanded 12.9 inch display of the iPad Pro is the most advanced Apple have ever produced and a complete commendable design overhaul redesigning and setting the new premium standard for the tablet once more.

The iPhone 6s & The iPhone 6s Plus

Finally we get to the nitty gritty of where we started the article with the awaited core of the whole Apple Keynote presentation. Tim Cook is back on stage throwing statistics and popular opinion in regards to the iPhone 6 being the most popular smartphone of all time, he introduces the new iPhone on the silver screen which speaks for itself- we now know we have the option of picking either the new iPhone 6s or the iPhone 6s Plus which sounds incredibly similar to success!

Phil Schiller is back on the stage he takes us step by step through the specifications and colours both phones are available in- Rose Gold, Gold, Space Grey, and Silver metallic Alluminum finnish. Apple’s custom 7000 series Alluminum is the very same type of metal used in the space industry. Phil lays it up to the silver screen and platter demo again which begins to stream along with Jony Ive doing audibly what he does best with his hypnotising Zen-like voice that makes you want to go and burn out your wallet. Speaking of which Loyds in the UK has signed up for Apple Pay just this week confirming digital electronic money never sleeps with more banks adapting to the new age of consumerism where everyone can pay and buy anything with just a tap from a smartphone.

The Discernable Differences in UI Hardware & Software

The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus remarkably are strikingly visually similar to the latter models, the only difference is visually made at the back of the phone with a little logo that identifies you as haveing the latest iPhone 6s. Yet there’s a massive upgrade beneath the hood and the display surface which integrates with the UI and iOS9. The display is also enhanced with a brand new protective crystal layer and there’s a new gesture pressure sensitive controll for Apple.

Peek & Pop & 3D Touch

Peek and Pop are two new gestures at your fingertips. The display now has uber skills approaching something like special relativity at discerning and detecting a higher and lighter range of force when it’s pressed upon the glass. This touch impression registers with the accelerometer and on board sensors.

Apple have engineered and written software into the fabric of iOS9 to take advantage of this new sculpted and created feature. This means you can press down harder upon the screen at anytime using ‘Peek’ to basically access a new shortcut menu essentially pre-launching the most used apps or simply peeking into an email or any other app and then, only then if the “Peek” interests you “Pop” into it by holding and pushing down even harder, expanding into the full email or the peek of your choice! It is seriously going to change how you use your iPhone Forever! Peekaboo!

The Camera

The Camera on the iPhone 6s and it’s partner in crime (6s Plus) are now 4K initiated meaning both can film in 4K with 8 million pixels joining the likes of the Sony Xperia Z5 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5# by filming for maximum resolution and detailed viewing pleasure. This is all achieved with Apple’s new upgraded 12MP iSight Camera with 50% more pixels and more pixel focus then before. This is definitely the best camera Apple have ever made. I would absolutely love to see how it would compare with the Sony Xperia Z5 at 23MP packing a similar pixel focus resolution and soft tech tweak to reduce pixel space and image noise.

Live Photo

The Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus both have “technically” a new feature “Live Photo” which again isn’t strictly new but borrowed and re-done and still impressive uniquely capturing sound when compared with the feasibility and continuity of viewing with new Apple TV (which also deserves a further mention and it’s own article) nevertheless live photo is nothing more then a glorified looping and pretty video gif and this has been done before, repeatedly by HTC and Sony with the Xperia range (My Z2 even has a feature that mimics this but nobody has noticed and you can’t even share a loop with it on instagram or FB or twitter which on my Z2 has always been a shame) That said Apple have the automatic respect and pulling power to kick and set ‘Live Photo’ into a trend putting the proverbial apple-cart before the horse; FB have picked up the opportunity in the works and thus probably instagram next too which might even open the door for Android and everyone else? We’re gonna have to wait and see but I think Live Photo is here to stay even if it does take three times as much storage space.

Specificaions

Throughout the presentation we learn the new 3rd Generation A9 64Bit CPU on the iPhone 6s is 70% faster then the iPhone 6. Which go’s to show there is more then meets the eye then just a logo and a new Rose Gold Alluminum metal colour the “Mettal” GPU of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus is also 90% faster then yesteryear’s siblings putting it into Console territory. The Motion M9 Co-processor is cleverly built and directly embedded into the CPU. This keeps track of all your health and fitness data and is always on forever working with Siri always on always ready to gather information. Which does make you wonder, how do you turn that off to avoid using your data allowance?

The Answer

Apple provided the answer to a forgivable blemish. Afterall it is throughly and anominously compressed and secure. No data is ever used other than “locally” and in regards to Siri Apple have spoken dictating that although Siri will always be active thanks to the M9 co-processor. It wont always be picking up on everything you say until you actually make a request and set it up, even then you won’t be using any data until you “Hey Siri” when out and about. Apple were very serious about this point as well as the absolute safety and security of your personal data being a number one priority.

Conclusion & Price

The latest incarnation of the iPhone in its fresh familiar metallic coat and blended yolk the “iPhone 6s” and the slightly bigger iPhone 6S Plus variation both look almost identical as last years handset. Yet there’s a big difference in processing power leaping and preforming (70%) faster with the graphic GPU increased even further by 90% putting the immersive gaming experience of the iPhone 6s into games console waters providing a territorial goldrush for developers. The hardware of the new handset is worthwhile for its price and development. Apple have re-worked everything from the ground up with the discussed “Peek” and “Pop” feature and function which will change the way things are done forever with the latest iPhone operating with the new iOS 9 which, depending on the uptake is probably the shape of things to come from Apple.

You can pre-order the iPhone 6 or the larger iPhone 6 Plus starting from today September the 12th with the new beasts shipping for September the 26th and already pre-orders are rolling so fast as to slow down speed of Apple’s website.
